Dorothy has always loved music, it’s that simple really.
Born and raised in Kenya’s capital Nairobi, Dorothy moved to Canada after an educational stint in Australia. “I love reading and writing and I enjoy an occasional good theatre production” Her list of favorite musicians is far too extensive to list and so is her list of favorite authors.
Dorothy credits singing with Soul Influence as her greatest musical achievement thus far. “They are patient with me and they love me, it’s effortless to love them.”
“To human is to err” Dorothy says. “But I have learnt that it’s human for us to fall, but it is the astute people who rise up again, that and the fact that with an inspiring sister such as mine, life is certainly more enjoyable. The road to where she is now has not been an easy one. “The struggle to strike that balance and achieve that sense of equilibrium in one’s ministry is can be challenging. Yet through it, we grow and evolve.”
To Dorothy, singing with Soul Influence is about recognizing that God is the potter and we are the clay. Being used by God in this way is very humbling “Oh but I love it!” Philippians 4:8-9 has been my guiding principles since I was baptized two and half years ago. “Life is what you make it, always keeping in mind that with God nothing is impossible.
